About Michael:

Michael is an award winning nature photographer from Queensland’s Hervey Bay and an associate member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. With a deep passion for the environment and especially the ocean, Michael has created an impressive collection of images which he sells from his gallery, Into The Wild Photography, Homewares & Gifts. Michael will share with you a wealth of knowledge ensuring you capture the best possible images in-camera and will help you refine them to perfection in post-production with daily Lightroom sessions. His light-hearted demeanour and endless enthusiasm for the whales will ensure your experience with these amazing creatures will be one you never forget.

To me, the ocean has always been a place of adventure, of wonder and of comfort. Connecting all living things, it is is the lifeblood of our planet. Spending time in the water with the amazing creatures who call it home is the most uplifting experience and a true privilege.
My first experience swimming with humpback whales was over a two week period in the pristine waters of The Kingdom of Tonga. Words can not describe the incredible interactions, intelligence and affection I witnessed from these massive creatures. Through photography, I hope to create images to convey these experiences. True “gentle giants”, they are just as inquisitive of us as we are of them, each with their own unique personality.  A truly life changing experience.”
