Sadly, we are no longer operating tours in Moorea, Tahiti

Our decision to cease operation on this beautiful island that we love so much,
is the new whale-watching guidelines for 2025 season,
do not align with guest safety & our strict 'non harassment' policies.

Under the new whale-swimming rules for 2025 season (and beyond) in French Polynesia, they are allowing 3 licensed vessels at 100 m from the whales, with a maximum of 8 guests and 1 whale-guide entering the water from each boat at one time.

This means, they will be 27 swimmers surrounding the whale/s at one time!

This is harassment! Especially around mothers & calves!

There is no time limit for each of the 3 licensed boat, with the whales either.

The remaining licensed boats in the area waiting for a turn - need to be 200-300m from the whale/s. It is not clear, what happens when the whales move from the 3 boats/27 people? It could be a race for 3 boats positioning at 100m?

You also need to consider if the guests are fit enough to snorkel 100m to the whales.

In past years, we found that many of our guests were not fit enough to snorkel 100 m to the whales, and another 50 to 100 m when the whales moves, without help from our whale-guide.

(There are 20 licenced whale-swimming boats based on the island of Moorea.)

Please consider joining us in our other beautiful humpback whale nurseries

in the warm South Pacific ocean, where the guidelines support both the whales and our guests! !

Aitutaki, Cook Islands with just 2 operators - 4 boats only with permission

&

Vava'u, Tonga 30+ boats are licensed, but covering a much bigger area.
